Frequently Asked Questions

Rethink Your Relationship with the Sky

How much does is cost to go parasailing?

We are currently offering one flight option.

Standard flight: 800 feet of line

$99 per person
$40 observer fee
Please call for group rates.

How long does the entire trip take?

We operate all tours with a maximum time of an hour and a half from dock to dock with a full boat of 12 passengers. The first tour is at 09:00 a.m., and they run every 1.5 hours after.

Do I need prior experience?

Absolutely not! The captain and crew are professionals and do all of the work for you. You just have to come prepared to have a good time. If you can sit, you can parasail!

Do I need to know how to swim?

No, since all take-offs and landings are done directly to and from the back deck of the boat, you do not even have to get wet. In the extremely unlikely event of a boat malfunction, the flyers slowly drift down to the water, and the mandatory life jackets will keep you afloat.

Do I have to get wet?

No, you do not have to get wet. It is your choice if you’d like a gentle toe touch in the water before landing safely on the back deck. If you’re not interested in touching the water, please ask the captain for a dry landing.

Can I go if I experienced back. spinal or neck injuries in the past?

We ask that if you have suffered from any of these conditions, that you use your own judgment. We require all passengers to sign a liability waiver that addresses all of the above. Please discuss any disabilities prior to your scheduled trip. If the seas and conditions are not favorable, the captain will advise returning on a better day.

What are the minimal and maximum age requirement to parasail?

The minimum age to parasail is 5 years old. As for the maximum age, there is no such thing. The oldest passenger I have sent up was 97 years old!

Can I go up with someone else?

Yes, we offer tandem or triple flights (two or three at a time). We don’t usually allow single flyers due to the minimum weight of 125 pounds in the parachute.

Is there a weight restriction?

The minimum weight is 125 pounds, and the maximum is a total of around 500 pounds. These numbers strongly depend on the weather and sea conditions. The captain has the right to pair up any single flyers for safety. Also, the captain can split up any tandem or triples that are over the weight limit for safety.

Can a minor go up by themselves?

Yes, as long as they meet the weight requirements and the captain is comfortable with it. An adult must at least be present during check-in to sign the liability waiver for anyone under the age of 18 years old.

What if I change my mind on the boat and decide I don't want to go up anymore?

Yes, as long as they meet the weight requirements and the captain is comfortable with it. An adult must at least be present during check-in to sign the liability waiver for anyone under the age of 18 years old.

Can I ride on the boat and not go up?

Yes, for an additional fee of $40 per observer. We only allow two observers per party, and there is a two-observer maximum per trip as well. If an observer chooses to upgrade to a flyer, then the $40 will be applied to the full ticket cost for the desired height they choose.

How does parasailing work?

Once you get outfitted with a life jacket and harness, you then take a seat on the back deck of the boat. Once seated, the mate/crew clips two clips to the flight bar attached to the parachute. The captain checks for comfort and, most importantly, safety, and then off you go! The captain releases the line to your desired height. When the flight is done, the captain retrieves the line until you land safely onto the back deck in a sitting position, just as you left.

Is parasailing scary?

Actually, no, it is not scary at all. The ride itself is the most peaceful, surreal activity. The ascent and descent are very slow — nothing like a rollercoaster. Once at the maximum height, it’s extremely quiet, and the view is out of this world!

Is parasailing safe?

Here at Boynton Beach Parasail, safety is our number one concern. We are a family-oriented business and have the motto, “If it’s not safe to send our children up, we won’t send yours up!” We have all of the industry’s top safety equipment and the best gear money can buy. Our 16 years of experience in the industry don’t hurt. When in doubt, we don’t go out!

What happens if the boat breaks down or towline breaks?

Prior to every trip, the captain does a full safety briefing. This briefing includes safety equipment, fire drill, man overboard, sinking vessel, and most importantly, water landings of any kind. Life jackets are mandatory for anyone that goes into the sail.

What should I wear?

We tell all guests to come in beach attire. A swimsuit is always recommended but not mandatory. There is a small bit of storage to stow clothes that are removed on board before you ride. We always recommend sunblock before the trip begins.

Can I take my camera with me?

We do allow valuables and cameras on the boat but do not recommend anything in the sail that is not waterproof. With that being said, any and all valuables are at the owner’s risk. Boynton Beach Parasail is not liable for anyone’s personal belongings.

Do you offer any type of photo service?

Yes, we do! We use a Nikon Digital SLR with a nice zoom lens to capture photos from the boat. We capture anywhere from 30 to 50 photos of your parasail experience, starting with a few before photos on the boat, on the deck before take off, leaving the boat, a small toe-dip into the water, to all the way up high in the sky. We will snap a few scenic shots before you make your descent, where we rapid-fire an optional dip into the water before you land. We will upload your photos for $40.

Do need to make a reservation?

Reservations are always recommended. Our trips leave the docks at the top of every hour on the hour. A reservation guarantees your party a seat in the boat. Walk-up guests are always welcome, but there could be a wait, especially during our busy seasons.

How can I make a reservation?

There are two different ways to make a reservation. All reservations require a credit card to hold the seat.

All cancellations are to be made at least 24 hours in advance. Same-day cancellations are charged the full ticket price unless other arrangements are agreed upon. Refunds are to be issued if, and only if, Boynton Beach Parasail cancels the trip due to bad weather or unfortunate circumstances.

What if it raining or the weather in unfavorable?

Living here in South Florida, we do experience rain almost every day. We try to make all weather-related calls on the same day or even hour by hour. Understanding that your time is valuable, we will always give as much notice as possible for cancellations. If the captain decides to cancel, full refunds or trip rescheduling will be available.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, debit cards, Venmo, PayPal, and all major credit cards.

Is it customary to tip the crew?

Our staff does work for the generosity of your gratuities. We provide a service, and our crew works very hard to make sure you have the best and safest experience possible.

What days and times to you operate?

The boat operates seven days a week, weather depending. Trips start at 9 a.m. and run every hour until 5 p.m. Arrangements can be made in advance for earlier or later trips depending upon availability. The weather tends to be calmer in the morning hours.
